Darius “Duce” King never planned to become anybody’s fantasy.

A former hotel bartender with the ability to make uncomfortable rooms feel effortless, Duce receives an unexpected offer: accompany a wealthy woman to a charity dinner, look comfortable, stay discreet, and understand that winning means never needing to prove himself.

One evening turns into another booking.

Then another.

Soon Duce discovers an entire economy hiding beside Hollywood nightlife: male escorts, gigolos, private companions, dancers, subscription creators, agency men, kept men and independent workers whose appearance, conversation, discretion and emotional intelligence all carry a price.

As Duce moves between Long Beach, Hollywood, luxury hotels, private parties and digital platforms, he learns that the most valuable thing he sells may not be sex at all.

It may be attention.

Respect.

Calm.

The feeling that somebody is listening.

And eventually, Duce must decide where the fantasy ends and where he begins.
